A Little Bunch of Welcome.
First off, welcome to my new blog! But this is not my first blog.
Because, as some of my friends may remember, I had a blog in college.
Well, most people do, don't they? College is the perfect time to have a blog. Students are full of self-reflection, have a lot of time on their hands and are suddenly propelled into a life where they feel self-important enough to write endlessly about themselves and think that people will want to listen. I ended Smally George my junior year of college. (please do not take the time to look it up it's actually truly embarrassing).
It had gotten a pretty out of hand... I mean, how well could I write about fashion when I wasn't actually that fashionable?
I also realized I couldn't honestly write a food blog when all I ate was pita chips and hummus dip.
I was not yet a florist, but I was already super into weddings. But writing about weddings just felt strange, as I wasn't actually planning anyone's wedding yet. Except for my roommate's... who was single at the time. ...Pretty sure there is still a page on The Knot somewhere dedicated to her wedding to Ryan Gosling.
It was time to cut off my blogging experience. I knew that, my family knew that, I'm pretty sure everyone who was reading knew it. But, I would say it was a pretty popular blog. You know how I know it was? Because I even got cyber bullied once. That's how good it was. Anyway, fast forward to 2018- It's a brand new year. Full of self-empowered women who feel like people(men) are finally ready to listen. I feel a HUGE blog resurgence coming on. We are finally ready to share what we've been repressing all of these years. Meatloaf recipes, and mason jars are a thing of the past- these blogs will be filled with real shit. The lady-bosses who make this world go round will finally write their truth. And because I consider myself a lady-boss and a millennial women who also feels empowered in this new year- I, too, must write a blog. So here it is. Blogger Hands. A play on my Instagram handle- Farmerhands.
In this blog I hope to write about floral design techniques and tips that creative souls might find helpful in their own life. I also hope to write a bit about the farming world, and my love for creative projects. I will talk a bit about fashion, and a smaller bit about good food and how to cook it. I will interview other creative souls who are doing kick-ass things across the industry. I will let you in on my hopes and dreams, and hopefully you will get to know me, and the flowers I arrange with a bit better. But mostly, I will hold myself accountable to sharing my story, and my love for flowers with others who feel drawn here.
For all of you who are new here, welcome. And for all of you who followed along on my old blog, and still find themselves here reading this one... God bless. I promise I'll do better.
